I feel so lucky that I can do something very special for the people that are so special to me. My dear friend Cynthia had her sweet baby Bella last week – and even though I’m officially on “maternity leave” I couldn’t let these precious first days pass by without capturing them for her. Unfortunately, Cynthia is having a difficult time and couldn’t take part in our session – so Dad (Abba) did it with me. What a trooper too – all smiles! :) Of course, this wasn’t my traditional newborn session….. I only had two hours to work with, my baby was here (and Abba even gave him a bottle while I took pictures) and my house (make-shift studio) was a mess! But hey, that’s what friends are for right??
Well, as I told Abba, you would never know by looking at these pictures that Miss Bella gave us a pretty hard time. I think she just wanted us to stop touching her and let her sleep. Ahhhh, the price you pay for a beautiful portrait! Of course, she was SOUND ASLEEP about 15 minutes before I had to go pick up Kylie for school – so I didn’t get to do my creative hats, props, etc – but I’m glad we got something to work with at the ripe young age of 10 DAYS OLD!
Isn’t she sweet…..

And a little smile for us….

I love this shot – just the scale of it all – and the tiny little package in Abba’s arms.

A wonderful, loving father – you can just see all the love in his eyes. Wishing mommy could be in this one too!

Tiny, tiny feet…

And a cool, eclectic shot for those creative types out there.

PS – the beautiful blanket was made by our friend and neighbor Lorraine – more on her AWESOME new baby stuff later!
