Love, love, everywhere!

I soooo enjoyed this session!  We giggled and played, and rolled in the grass.   At first both kids were being super shy, but they warmed up really fast, and they were my new BFF’s when I brought out the candy!  :)  As always, I can hardly believe my eyes when I see the kids.  Watching Erin go from a teeny-tiny newborn to a walking, talking toddler is so much fun for me.  Mom wanted to do more color this year for pictures – and I thought her choices were fantastic!!!  And I really want to steal her mustard colored jacket from Anthroplogie!!!

As I sit here working and stalking, err I mean waiting patiently, for MY family portrait session to be posted on another photographers blog, I know how hard it is to wait after a session to see pictures.  So, here is your sneak peek Suzanne!  And a few extras to tide you over!  Thanks for your patience!:) XOXO

Smiley, happy Caroline

What a wonderful time I had with Annie, Scott, and Caroline in the park!  The weather was beautiful and miss Caroline arrived with all of her usual smiles and giggles — not to mention her adorable clothes.  Although I’ve been taking pictures for this family for several years now, this felt like the most relaxed session ever.  We did more family shots than usual and I felt myself smiling as I looked through them.  I am loving these precious moments I was able to capture between mom, dad, and Caroline.  It’s also fun for me to see how much Caroline has grown since our last Fall Session — and even since our spring session when we took pictures for the cover of Our Town Magazine.

Enjoy your sneak peek!  :)

Session at home

I can’t believe how much Mr. Evan has grown since I took pictures of him as a newborn.  His mom and I have become friends over the past year, and I was still shocked that he’s all grown up!  We decided to do the session at their new home, which was the perfect backdrop to capture this family of three.  This age is tough because the little ones like to explore (rather than paying any attention to me).  I was so excited that I got lots of fun pictures with mom and dad.

Does this little guy look happy or what??

And here is mister bunny (same one from his newborn session).  He’s VERY attached – don’t you DARE try to take it away!  ;)

And finally, I wanted to share this picture we did for Evan’s nursery after his newborn session.  The canvas (with his Yankees hat) between two old fashioned Yankees pictures.  What a great idea!  Dad is a big fan.  :)

Monday Love / Beautiful Autumn

Another edition of Monday Love…

A quote: Bittersweet October.  The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter. -Carol Bishop Hipps

Something personal: Our trip to Cagle’s Family Farm was wonderful!  Although I have come down with some kind of cold/allergies/sinus infection, I persevered for a wonderful day with the family (okay, I admit it, the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks did help a little).  This was definitely the best weather we’ve had in our four years of making the trek up to Woodstock.  The kids had a blast and really loved running around with flashlights after it got dark at the bonfire.

I didn’t have the energy to bring the Beast with me (AKA: my Canon 5D MarkII), but I did use my Point & Shoot and I thought the pictures were still worth sharing.  :)

Can you see Jake in the background?  He really does not like having his picture taken.

Oh Jake, do you have to make that face???

It’s the most beautiful sunset while we sit around the bonfire and make s’mores.  :)

Right before leaving we wrangled the kids for a group picture.  HEY, at least we tried!!!

Now that Kylie has switched schools, she is always telling me how much she misses her “boyfriends” — Danny, Wyatt, and Brennan, from her old school.  Sebe is in her class now, so she sees him everyday.  She was beyond excited that Danny was going to the Pumpkin Patch and as you can see in this picture, they were connected at the hip for much of the evening.  ;)

On another personal note, Jake drew on himself with a marker this weekend.  I’m sure EVERY kid does this, but Jake did it with such intention and defiance, I can only wonder what other schemes he has planned for us in the future.  If only he wasn’t so darned cute!  It’s really hard to stay mad at him.

And the last personal note — we are having family pictures done at the BEACH this weekend by my friend, and fellow photographer, Andrea Halsey!  Just like all of my clients usually do, I’ve spent way too much time working on the “perfect” outfits for the session.  We are not a typical khaki/white shirt type of family so that was definitely out.  We love our jeans, and Kylie loves her skirts, so I wanted to find a way to make that work together, and still have it look like fall (even at the beach).  What do you guys think???

HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!!!!

Sweet baby boy + beautiful weather = perfect session in the park!

I had the pleasure of meeting this family because Granddad wanted pictures of his grandbaby, so he got them a gift certificate for Christmas!  What a great gift right??  Little Mister Wilson was as sweet as can be, with those chubby cheeks and infectious giggles.  Mom and Dad made my job easy.  They were so relaxed, and I could see how much they loved playing and cuddling with their little man.

Enjoy your sneak peek!
