Monday Love / A Session Share

The fall season is in full swing and I’m a little behind these days. Although I’m VERY busy with work, I have also been busy with life. We had a much needed family vacation followed by a weekend full of enlightenment (more on that later) — and now it’s back to the real world.

So instead of the traditional Monday Love blog post, it’s a session share for one of my long-time clients who just had their second baby boy. It’s such a special time, and I’m so grateful to be part of it. Kristin, George, and Grayson are always so fun to be around. I’ve always felt like they are old friends – even from the first time we met. Baby brother Brayden was a sweetheart too, and I can’t wait to watch him grow up. Plus, it’s good to know that between any sessions that I do, George is doing some fabulous photography work himself to catch all of the little details of daily life. ;)

Without further ado, welcome to the world Brayden!

I felt so bad because we were not able to get a sibling shot during our session. Grayson was such a good sport at the studio, playing and entertaining himself the whole time (with a little help from grandma of course). But he just wasn’t in the mood to do the picture “thing” with Brayden. I know mom was sad about it – but I promised her we got lots of great shots otherwise. Even great shots of Grayson! He’s such a cutie!

This one was a new version of the same image we did with Grayson as a newborn.

I had the pleasure of meeting this family because Granddad wanted pictures of his grandbaby, so he got them a gift certificate for Christmas! What a great gift right?? Little Mister Wilson was as sweet as can be, with those chubby cheeks and infectious giggles. Mom and Dad made my job easy. They were so relaxed, and I could see how much they loved playing and cuddling with their little man.

A house full of girls!

I have been photographing this family since miss Ava was about nine months old. Then we added miss Chloe, and now miss Sophia. I really adore spending time with Mom and the girls, they are all so sweet – and beautiful too! :) I don’t know how mom does it, but she always seems to have the energy for her girls, and a smile on her face to boot! We are planning a vintage garden tea party session for the spring….. can’t WAIT!!

And now, introducing miss Sophia. (I should mention that Mom really loves bows, so I tried to make sure we had a bow in most of the pictures.)

And because I have a sense of humor, I thought everyone might appreciate this “outtake” from our attempt at a sibling shot! Don’t worry, no babies were harmed during the capture of this image. ;)

Darling baby boy

I was so excited to meet this family. With Miss E being almost two years old and Mr. W just being born, it was a fun morning that included everyone, even Grandma and Grandpa (code name Ambient Grandpa because he’s so good at putting babies to sleep!). Our little man slept so nicely, and he let us get a nice variety of images – even my most popular “pose” that mom wanted to have (the first picture below). We were already talking about taking pictures of the kids outside in the future…… ahhhh, how time flies right?

But for now, he sleeps! Meet the little prince….

So excited to capture this sweet shot. Mom said this was the first time big sis had given her baby brother a kiss. Awwwwww!

One Year Old Maggie

I have spent so much time with this family over the last couple years, and it always feels like I’m visiting with old friends. This particular day was in honor of Maggie, who just celebrated her first birthday. On one hand, it’s such a joy to see my little babies grow up — but on the other hand, I can’t believe how quickly it goes, not to mention the fact that I feel a little older each time I photograph one of my baby graduates! We spent some extra time doing pictures of Mr. P and Miss Lily Kate, who are both growing up into such beautiful kids. Big brother loves his little sisters so much and never hesitates to cuddle in with them for pictures (SO cute!). Maggie was completely disinterested in me (as most one-year-olds are) but I managed to capture the essence of her age — discovery (mostly of the leaves and rocks!). If you want to go back in time, you can see her NEWBORN images and her SITTING/SMILING images too!

Mom LOVES pictures. Her home is filled with pictures on almost every wall. And I’m honored that most of the pictures are ones that I have taken for them. I should have taken some pictures of the pictures! ;) I wanted to get her sneak peek up quickly because I know she’ll be checking! Enjoy!!!

The boy next door

Yep, we have a new neighbor, and he is ADORABLE! You might remember when I did Latitia’s Maternity Pictures and we had one of the images on the March 2011 cover of Our Town Magazine. Well, life has changed for my long-time neighbors, and now they have a precious new baby boy. I couldn’t be happier for them and I’m so excited to introduce Mr. Jamison Alan – exactly 7 days old. :)

Guess who is getting all the sleep in this family???? :)

Beautiful baby Lyon

I’m a little slow on my session shares recently (sorry!). Here are some pictures from our wonderful session at my studio with my friend Alice Park, and her beautiful baby boy, Christian Lyon. There were four of us photogs there (five if you include Alice – but she was just watching). It was awesome! Lyon didn’t make a peep – just slept the whole time. Truly a photographer’s baby! :)

I can’t wait to watch him grow up – and I know there will be tons of pictures since his mom is a fabulous photographer, with lots of photographer buddies. Congratulations to Alice & Kyu! XOXO

Perfect in every way

I always get really excited about newborn sessions because it’s so fun to hang out with new parents and snuggle with the new babies. It’s also very nostalgic to talk about how it “used to be” when my kids were teeny-tiny. There really is no way to prepare for parenthood, except to open your mind and your heart to the most amazing experience in life. And these two parents are going to do GREAT! The love is just pouring out of them when they look at sweet baby Avery. My heart is melting as I browse through the images I captured during our session. From what I understand, there are two sets of VERY excited grandparents as well – even more fun!!

Welcome to the world baby girl! I can’t wait to watch you grow up!

Something personal: Monday hasn’t been so good to me, and I’m feeling a bit stressed. So, instead of spending a whole lot of time writing about it, I’m just gonna go to bed.

I had the pleasure of meeting the cutest little girl last week. Miss Maddy was awesome to work with and she has the best grandmother in the world (she’s buys her tons and tons of adorable outfits – just perfect for a photo shoot)! Mom told me that Maddy’s newborn pictures were mostly black and white, so she definitely wanted some great color shots this time. This first image was at the very end of our session – and it’s one of my favorites! Enjoy your peek!
