a little love for Monday | atlanta family photography

Mondays always get a bad wrap.  It’s the day we have to go back to work, school, the daily grind.   But, it can also be a new beginning, a breath of fresh air after the weekend, a chance to start over.  This is the first post in a series that I hope will bring a little love to your Mondays – whatever it holds in store for you!  I plan to share some personal stuff, maybe some funny outtake pics from a session, as well as other helpful tips and ideas that you might enjoy.  Feel free to send me a note if there is a category you would like to include.

A Quote – “In youth we learn; in age we understand.”  Marie Von Ebner-Eschenbach

Something Personal – I recently attended my 20 year high school reunion in Redding, CA.  I know, I know, I’m sure you don’t think I look a day over 21 right?  HA!   There are a ton of pictures that I could share, but I’m choosing this one because it is so profound to me.  LIFE.  REPEATED. AGAIN. AND AGAIN.  Here are the offspring of just four of my friends (and myself).  Jake (running to me) is the youngest at 18 months and Zeke is the oldest – already in high school.   I look at this picture and think of all the ideas in their heads, the realm of possiblities in their futures.  I remember how I felt at each of these ages – the things that ran through my mind as a child.  WOW.  How did I get here?  Am I really 38 years old?  I don’t feel OLD?  But, when I was as  young as these kids, I thought of my parents as “old” right?  Who knows when they will all be together again, but I’m so happy we did it this time and hopefully there will be more reunions in our future!

Something I love – if your house is anything like my house, the laundry room is WAY too small!  Mine is a closet.  I used to have personal items hanging on hangers and doorknobs to dry until I discovered this handy drying rack from Ballard Designs.  It fits against the wall, and then just leans out when you need to hang items on it.  I bought the small one, but if I could choose again, I think I would go with the medium one.   I LOVE it and couldn’t live without it anymore!

Cute shopping find – I thought these envelope labels from Tapeswell.com were so AWESOME when I found them!  What a great way to decorate packages, or even mail letters and cards.

A peek -There are so many things happening here at CCJames Photography.  I have spent the last several months reworking my business model and trying to decide the best way to move forward.  I want to make the BEST experience for my customers and friends.  I want it to be FUN.  I want them to LOVE having pictures taken and LOVE seeing the images of those that they adore.  I will give you some little peeks and hints, but the big reveal will take a little more time.  Please know that there are so many GREAT things to come and I can’t wait to share more!  For now a little collage  I created to entice you……
