Monday love…

Another edition of Monday Love

A QuoteThe bonds of matrimony are like any other bonds – they mature slowly. ~Peter De Vries

Something Personal: What a weekend!  Jeff’s birthday was Friday and we got to celebrate with the Dekel’s at 4th & Swift.  If you haven’t eaten there YOU MUST GO SOON!!!  It was one of the best dinners I’ve had in a very long time.  Impeccable service, great food, drinks, and company = wonderful evening!  On Saturday we had a birthday party, then out to a family lunch followed by the “getting” of our christmas tree and the baking of Jeff’s favorite birthday spice cake (after I went to the store because he used up all the eggs in the morning).  Sunday was a baby shower and our annual neighborhood holiday gathering….. WHEW!   Oh, and THURSDAY we went to the tree lighting at Vinings Jubilee with our friends the Monroe’s.  It was very busy, but it also felt so good to be in touch with friends and connected with family.  I had so many of these moments where I realized how fast my life is moving.  Jake is almost two years old and Kylie is almost in Kindergarten.  I remember Jeff and I talking about how “it will get easier soon” with our two kids because they will get older and more transportable.  And now, we are getting to that point and I’m so happy, yet a little sad at the thought.

I am so grateful for my partner in life.  Happy Birthday Jeff!

It was pretty chilly at the tree lighting – but there were pony rides, a train ride, face paining, balloons, Santa — and everything was FREE!  We’ll be there next year for sure!

And just had to share, my Kylie Bear has become such a poser!  She came up with this one all by herself!  Recognize the tree — Cumberland Mall!

Best buds!  🙂

Cool shopping find: I’ve been looking for a nice shrimp bowl for a while.  You know, the glass bowl that sits on another glass bowl of ice.  Well, I found this Super Chill Insulated Bowl from Frontgate and I subtly ripped out the page of the catalog and gave it to Jeff for my xmas list (along with a little, tiny, itty-bitty request for laser hair removal)!  😉

Something Charitable:  I have done some charity work for the Atlanta Children’s Shelter and I wanted to share this link to the holiday cards they are selling.  The card was created by Nyla (age 5) and is so adorable.  You can purchase them online ($1 each and come in packs of 10,20, or more) and the proceeds benefit the shelter.  I was thinking these would be nice to buy for the kids to draw pictures in and pass out at school.  🙂  If you aren’t familiar with the work the shelter does, you can check out their website.  Most of the children that spend their days at the shelter do not have homes at night.  Many have single mothers who have suffered through abuse and are trying to achieve independence for themselves and their children.  They are working so hard and they have hope for a better future.

Stay tuned for an adorable newborn session sneak peek!
