Monday Love / Old (but eternally young) Friends

Another edition of Monday Love…

A quote: Some people go to priests; others to poetry; I to my friends. – Virginia Wolf

Something personal: One of my dear friends recently turned 40 (but she doesn’t look a day over 30!) and I remember her saying to me that we have known each other for almost 20 years.  I immediately dismissed her, thinking, NO WAY has it been 20 years!  But, alas, it has.  The amazing part about our friendship is that it has withstood the test of time, distance, and long periods of being out of touch.  And yet, anytime we talk, I always feel like we start right where we left off.   She’s a beautiful person, inside and out, and I’m lucky to call her my friend.  It’s a little overdue, but I wanted to share some impromptu pictures that I took of her daughter while I was in California recently.  She just left for college, and yet, it feels like she was just a little girl with braces yesterday.   Oh, father time, can you PLEASE slow down!!!

Meet Cameron, all grown up and beautiful. 🙂

Here’s a picture of Deb and I from 2005.  She’s lucky I’m too lazy to scan in any earlier pictures…..  We both had pretty big hair back in our college days!  😉

And just a couple months ago with the third part of our threesome, another of my dearest friends, Noel.  XOXO!  Love you ladies!

Something interesting: Have you ever heard about the TED talks?  It’s an incredible resource for short talks from AMAZING presenters about everything you could imagine.  One night Jeff and I sat with the iPad and just randomly picked one after another to watch (instead of a regular TV).  We learned about some unbelievable advances in science (time travel anyone?) and listened to a very inspiring talk by Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat, Pray, Love) about the creative process.  You can search the talks by categories such as inspirational, fascinating, ingenious, and many more.  I know there are plenty of ways to “waste” time on the internet, but this is not one of them.  I am truly inspired and humbled by some of these people.  Go have a peek!
