Monday Love / Six

Another edition of Monday Love…

A quote: “They say I’m old-fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast!”  Dr. Seuss

Something personal: I was sitting at the table eating dinner with my family last weekend, and I looked over at Kylie and couldn’t help but stare.  Her face was surrounded by whispy curls, just like when she was a baby.  And as I watched her eating, I noticed the little dimple that is becoming more pronounced on the right corner of her mouth.  She mentioned that her bottom tooth is getting REALLY wiggly, which caused a pit in my stomach.  OMG – is she really growing up??!?!  She is going to LOSE A TOOTH, and she just graduated from…. gasp….. KINDERGARTEN!!!  Deep breath, in……out…..in……out…..  Okay.

Me: Kylie, do you want to go outside and I can take some pictures of you?

Kylie: (completely nonchalant) Sure.

And so, messy hair and all, we went outside to take a few pictures of my “rising first grader,” before she loses any of those baby teeth, and any more of that baby face.  It was 6:45pm, and the light was beautiful.  Fifteen minutes later, I have these.  :)  I think it’s the first time I have taken “official” pictures of her since she turned five.

She said “Mommy, how about I climb up in the tree and you can take a picture of me like that?”   Yep, that works!  :)

Just a few pictures from her graduation.  Hardly a dry eye in the place when the Kindergarteners broke out in song “All you need is love….la, la, la, la, la….All you need is love, love.  Love is all you need.”

Kylie with her teachers.  I couldn’t ask for a better start to her education.  She also got the “Teddy Graham” award for always being full of love and giving great hugs.  :)

Moving their tassels over.

My proud graduate.

Something I love:  For Mother’s Day, I told Jeff I wanted a Zoku popsicle maker.  We have had so much fun with it.  You can make all different varieties – and they freeze in about 8 minutes.  After dinner (or anytime) we pull it out, pour in the juice, and wah-lah,  a healthy, sweet treat!  Here’s an Instagram pic from my iPhone.  We made Orange/Fruit Punch (with juice) and a chocolate one too.  Kylie’s favorite flavor so far is limeade popsicles.  Eventually, I hope to get the Zoku Character Kit for some more creative treats, or the Zoku Chocolate Station, since that’s my favorite flavor!  :)

HAPPY MONDAY!!!
