was it worth it?

I have wanted to shoot some “field pictures” for a while now and hadn’t spotted the perfect spot.  The other day I saw this overgrown field (where they are supposed to build some houses but you know the story there) and told my husband I wanted to do some pictures there.  He thought I was weird – I believe his comment was “but it’s just weeds”.   Of course, that didn’t change my mind, so when Kylie woke up from her nap I asked her if she was game for some pictures and she said “okay”.  :)   People assume that I take tons of pictures of my daughter – and I do – but not all the time.  It’s usually special occasions or special settings where I take a bazillion pictures and then pick my favorites.

The reason I ask “was is worth it” above is because as we were leaving the field it crossed my mind that I could have just exposed BOTH of us to POISON IVY!  Of course, I had a total freak out on the way home and we both jumped in the shower as soon as we walked in the door (not sure if that was the right thing to do) and I’m just hoping that neither of us break out in a rash…..

So, these are my favorites.  I have to admit that it was very difficult to shoot.  I had limited time with my two-year-old’s patience (and no assistant) and the light was very harsh and strange to manipulate.  But, I think it was worth it (no signs of P.I. yet) and I think these are pretty cool.  What do you think??

Tried some special effects on this one….

I think this one is my very favorite – not sure why, but it’s just the sweetest look.
