Miss Savannah is way past the newborn photography stage, but mom was determined to document her beautiful family just as they are right now — and I’m so glad we did it! It’s a bit more challenging when babies are at this stage because they aren’t as sleepy as a newborn, but they’re also not as sturdy as an older baby. Big sister Abbey was GREAT and had this big glowing smile that could brighten any room. We all worked as a team, and I think we captured something truly beautiful.

Okay so, just like how the cobbler’s children have no shoes; a photographer’s family has no portraits! HA! My sister in law had her sweet baby last month, and of course I had to take a million pictures of her. As of today, poor Laurie has yet to receive any official “gallery” of images. Don’t get me wrong, she has SEEN them on my computer and on facebook, AND she already has her beautiful birth announcements to send out. So, here is a slew of images for her (and the rest of the family) to drool over until they get hard copies!

It has been so amazing to see Scott & Laurie become the loving parents of an infant. For years, Aunt Laurie has saved the day at our house – always willing to babysit and help with my kids. I’m excited to spend time with Ally and return the favor with lots of sleepovers and fun times as our kids get to grow up together.

This was such a fun session. Mom is a good friend of mine and I photographed Lindy when she was an itty bitty baby – and now she’s a BIG SISTER! Oh how the time does fly!! Baby Sloan slept the whole time, and barely made a peep – she was AWESOME! The only downer about this post is that they will soon be moving to Dallas…. BOO! I’m very sad.

I’m always a softy for the mommy-baby pictures. I know how quickly they grow and there’s nothing quite as sweet as kissing the soft, peach-fuzz-covered, newborn head. Yes, I’m jealous…. but just a little!

I had a wonderful newborn session with sweet Beckett and his parents. It’s been a string of really wonderful newborns, so cooperative and sleepy! Mom told me in advance that Beckett would have a cleft lip and palate when he’s born. I’m so happy that these parents embrace the beauty and wonder that is their son and did not wait to do pictures after his surgeries. His condition is very mild and, as Daddy said, it’s only cosmetic. He is truly perfect in every way, and I got teary-eyed when holding him, just remembering when my Jake was so little. It’s a time that slips away so quickly and the only thing you can do is enjoy it, treasure it, and capture it with a picture.

Without further ado, meet Mr. Beckett!

Proud Papa and Mama! Dad is very into baseball and I love that he brought his glove to use in some pictures.

Can you see the little smile on Beckett’s face? I swear he was grinning almost the whole time! And beautiful mommy – she doesn’t look tired at all right??

After Beckett ate, he was WIDE awake. Mom said he usually stays awake for a while so we just went ahead and did some more pictures. Usually I do this pose when the babies are sleeping, but we gave it a try “awake” and I think it’s adorable!

Oh my goodness – miss Anna is one of my baby planners and she has changed so much since our newborn session back in December! She was seriously one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met. If we put her down and let her just sit on the floor she would giggle, smile, and laugh at us – and it was even her nap time! Of course, mom and dad are always smiling too, so I’m sure she gets her jolly demeanor from them.

I really love these first two images – especially the close up. As a photographer I can guide people (or pose them) but when things happen naturally, those are always the best images in my opinion. Dad was looking at mom, mom was looking at Anna and Anna was looking at me with that silly tongue – adorable!

It was getting HOT fast, so we went inside for a couple more tutu shots.

My niece entered the world last night at 6:45pm and she is such a sweety. Here are just a few pics from the hospital this morning. Of course, there are many more to come……

I feel so lucky to get to cuddle, hold and kiss these sweet little babies so I don’t have to have another one of my own. I get my “baby fix” without the sleep deprivation! ;)

Miss “E” did such a great job for us. She was already 4 weeks old because we had to reschedule twice. But after we wrapped her, fed her and rocked her for a couple hours, she slept just like a newbie! Mom and Dad are both school teachers (which I admire so much) and they are overjoyed with their new little angel!

I think this is my favorite one – tiny little baby, beautiful mommy, such a special moment.

Little miss “C” arrived a little early and she is the sweetest thing with a full head of hair and silky soft skin. I had so much fun photographing her – and mom is so relaxed – she let me do whatever I wanted! ;)

Mom (and Dad) have their hands full with these two beauties – just wait until they are in high school!

Miss “C” gave me so many smiles during our session. Sometimes she would even open her eyes and smile. I think she really likes me…..

Miss “A” was so great the whole morning. She loves her baby sister and she even did a few poses for me. Beautiful!

I got to meet this precious little girl on her DUE DATE because she was nine days early. Mom and Dad are calling her their Christmas gift – and what a special gift she is. I feel so lucky to have a glimpse into the early days of new babies and new parents. It brings back memories of my experiences with both of my children (good & bad) and reminds me of just how quickly the time flies by – and how amazing these teeny, tiny, wee ones are.

Meet Miss “A” and her perfect little angel lips, fuzzy baby hair and tender soft skin. And yes, I just had to give her a little kiss while I held her…. ;)

The jury is still out – Gators or Bulldogs……..

I kept trying to curl her little legs up under her (which most babies love), but Miss A wasn’t having any of it. She would instantly stretch her legs – and even prop herself up on her knees. Adorable right??

Oh my goodness, this little guy was sooooooooooooo sweet. I have to admit I was a little nervous since mom called me when he was already about 10 days old – so I fit him in my schedule ASAP, but he was just over two weeks old by then. That may not seem like a big deal to most people, but as any photog will tell you, the EARLIER THE BETTER with the newborn pictures. Mr. “M” proved all of my theories wrong and slept almost the entire time. He curled up so cozy just about anywhere I put him. LOVE IT!

Mom and Dad were awesome to work with. They were very relaxed for first time parents and they let me “do my thing” which is so fun for me! Aren’t they cute?? :)

And a smile from mr. handsome…..
