Just for fun

Because sometimes, you just need to have a little fun!  In the midst of all the coughs, fever, and runny noses, these pictures make me smile.  I had to go to the studio for a few things, so I took the kiddos with me and we played around a bit.  No special set, no special clothes (I didn’t even do their hair).  I think I love them even more this way.  :)

Then we went to the square for a little walking adventure and play time.  Had to show their true little smiles.

Monday Love / Giving Back

Another edition of Monday Love…

A quote: “The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their own.” -Disraeli

Something personal: Yes, it’s been a while.  This year I decided that rather than sacrifice my family time, I would sacrifice my blogging time.  My husband is happier.  ;)   When things slow down a bit, hopefully I will catch up with lots of updates, session peeks, food rants, and other fun stuff.

In the midst of all the craziness the holidays bring, I’ve had a burning desire to GIVE.  Not only to my friends and family, but to those less fortunate as well.  I’m excited to be going to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter Holiday House event this week, and I’m even more excited to announce a very special gift that I want to give.  Do you know someone that has had a difficult time recently?  Someone that isn’t busy trying to shop for all the latest toys, but instead, is barely making ends meet?  Or maybe someone that has been very ill, or someone that is always giving to others and rarely has time to do special things for him or herself.  I know you know these people.  Please take a few minutes to write to me, and share the story about someone you know that would be surprised and delighted by the gift of custom photography.  Let’s make the holiday extra-extra special for a friend in need.  :)

HAPPY MONDAY!!!!  (Well, on the west coast it’s still Monday!)

A beautiful fall morning, a cast, and an infectious giggle.

When mom sent me a text message the night before our session to let me know she was at Children’s Hospital getting a cast on her little guy, I have to admit I was a little worried.  She wanted to go ahead with the session, which was a good thing considering the cast will be on his arm for 4-8 weeks (and it’s getting colder everyday around here!)

As it turns out, there was nothing to worry about because this is one happy kid.  He played, giggled, made silly faces, and had me laughing the whole time.  Cast or not, this was a great time to capture this cutie pie before he gets all grown up!

Anytime we tickled him, the giggles were so contagious.  I couldn’t help but laugh right along with him.

Oh how he loves his Daddy!  And science!  But mostly, his Daddy!  :)

Love this one with mom – love, love, love.

Extended Family Photo Session

I was so excited when Stacey contacted me to do a photo session for her parents as gift.   So, rather than just giving them a picture of her own family as a gift, she is gifting a memory that will not soon be forgotten.  It made me think of how much I would love to get some fun pictures of my extended family since many of us are right here in Atlanta.  Since I’m usually taking the pictures, I guess I never thought of doing something “big” like that.   But, I digress.  We had a great time in the park, and based on my previous sessions with miss Avery, I knew we would get some wonderful images.

Stacey told me she wanted lots of candid, fun images, so we worked really hard to get Avery in the mood.  This included swinging, hugging games, me jumping up and down (and making a fool of myself), and there might have been a little candy involved…..

Avery’s grandparents were SO.MUCH.FUN!  They played, made silly faces, got down on the ground (ew, dirt?), and had a blast with us.   And this sweet kiss…. be still my heart.

Such good sports!  Uncle Scott and Mimi hamming it up to get some giggles out of Avery.  The things we will do for a smile right?

Sweet Family of Three

This Fall has been so beautiful.  The leaves changing color, the crisp air, and seeing all my wonderful clients and friends (that’s the best part)!  I always look forward to this session because Mom and I have been friends since our first session in 2008 – FOUR years ago!   Watching miss “C” grow up has been such a delight.  We always have such a fun time, and I have to put in a shameless plug for her dad, Scott, who has just started his own Landscaping Business (in case anyone’s looking -http://www.facebook.com/ArtisticOutdoorLandscapes).

I love this shot – oh my goodness!

Can you tell we had a blast?!

I thought it might be fun to show this image.  I knew when I took the image that I wanted a certain “look” for it.  On the left is the original, and the right is my artistic version.  Can you totally see the teenager already?

My little Diva!  :)

Love you guys!
